LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE
Lymphatic drainage massage improves lymphatic flow by relieving fluid congestion within the lymphatic vessels; this congestion is the cause of swollen ankles, tired puffy eyes, swelling in the legs during pregnancy and swelling surrounding injuries like sprains and fractures. Lymphatic drainage massage is also an effective element in the management of lymphodema and other chronic conditions like sinusitis, rheumatoid arthritis and scleroderma.
Lymphatic drainage massage is used predominantly to promote the ideal functioning of the lymphatic vessels that work in conjunction with the circulatory system.
Lymphatic drainage massage techniques aid the body in the removal of metabolic waste, excess water, bacteria, large protein molecules and foreign substances from the body’s tissues restoring the body’s natural fluid levels.
Lymphatic drainage massage techniques are preformed on superficial and deep lymphatic vessels using compression, pumping and light stroking techniques. These techniques flush lymphatic nodes and move lymphatic fluids around the body reducing fluid build ups or pooling in the body.
If you suffer from swollen ankles and legs or believe a Lymphatic drainage massage could help you and you’d like to make an appointment or get more information call Alana at The Health Space on 0434 645 496 or use our online contact form.
